Excellence Indicator System report. Constructed in 1946, Harwell Elementary
School was expanded in 1965 and 1988, when new wings were added to the building.
The school also has a gymnasium and a recess workout area.
One of the school's
most important academic programs in STARS -- Students, Tutors Achieving Reading
Success.
Each classroom is equipment with two or three computers, and students
have access to two 24-unit computer labs. Both Windows and Macintosh computers
are available for student use. All of the computers are wired for students to
access the information superhighway.
Harwell has an active parent teacher
association program. Special events held during the school year include Family
Learning Night, Parent Early Literacy Night and an Accelerated Reader Pep Rally.
The school fields both a boy's and a girl's basketball team.
