Excellence Indicator System report. Guadalupe Elementary School is the
only school in the Lubbock Independent School District named for the community
it serves.
The school was constructed in 1961, and a gymnasium was added to
the campus in 1991. The campus is equipped with classroom computers as well as
a computer lab. There are about 60 personal computers available to students. All
of the school's computers are wired for the Internet.
Guadalupe is rated exemplary
by the Texas Education Agency. School administrators said the rating indicates
the caliber of the programs offered and the teachers who serve on the faculty.
The multicultural campus celebrates a variety of holidays, including Cinco
de Mayo. Fun Day is an end-of-the-year celebration in which community dignitaries
participate with students and staff.
Guadalupe's parent teacher association
is growing. The organization has increased its volunteer and support activities
as well as students programs. School administrators said parents are supportive
of campus activities.
