Academic
Excellence Indicator System report. Built in 1988 and renovated in 1999,
Lubbock-Cooper High School features modern facilities wired for the information
age. The school has three Internet-ready computer labs, and students have access
to more than 200 computers.
The school's academic program includes traditional
subjects plus optional technology, business, agriculture and workshop coursework.
Through an agreement with South Plains College, the school provides advanced placement
courses.
Extracurricular activities include sports, arts, agriculture and
clubs. The Pirates compete in football, baseball, softball, tennis, power-lifting,
track and cross-country running. Award-winning band and drama programs are available
to students, as well as work programs and agricultural groups.
